Pete is lead physiotherapist at Accelerate Performance Centre. His areas of expertise include:
- Sports massage
- Dry needling
- Injury diagnosis and treatment
Pete qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2009 from Sheffield Hallam university, and has work with the Doncaster Belles ladies football team when they were in the ladies premier division. He has also worked in Sydney, Australia at a private orthopaedic hospital. And when not at Accelerate Performance Centre works at a specialist college for people with physical and learning disabilities as the senior physiotherapist.
He has extensive knowledge of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, using a range of methods to treat and manage them. This can range from home exercise programmes to soft tissue massage and myofascial release, manipulation of joints, dynamic and static taping techniques and dry needling.
Peter is a experienced runner and has completed a range of race and events at different distances from 5 km to ultra-marathons on road, trail and fell. He continues to run and is always training for the next event. He is also a keen road cyclist and is part of a local club where he takes part in events ranging from 40 miles to over 100 miles. (Don’t ask him about his bike unless you need a nap!)
In his younger day he was also a keen climber and was often at the climbing walls in Sheffield or the crags in the Peaks.
He enjoys working at Accelerate Performance Centre as it provides opportunity help athletes of all levels carry out their sport to the best of their ability.
