Strength and Stability

A good base of strength and stability is an essential part of preparing to run. No matter what point you are at in your running journey a good running specific strength programme will benefit you.

Improving strength reduces the risk of injury or re-injury, improves your running efficiency and power, and helps you to become an overall more robust runner.

Strength work, along with technique development, are the most sustainable ways to improve your running and should be an essential part of any training plan.

When returning from injury, the focus of strength work is to re-balance your body, to reduce any fear of putting movement or effort through the injured site, and to strengthen muscles which have played a role in causing the injury.

We offer one to one bespoke strength and stability programmes and a selection of strength classes through the week, suitable for all abilities.
